Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has signed an Order establishing the “Day of Science” on April 9, 2018. Under the presidential order, the Day of Science will be marked on March 27 every year.

The Scientific Research Coordination Council of the Republic of Azerbaijanapproved an Action Plan, according to which it is planned to hold a number of events at scientific institutions and organizations of the Academy of Sciences, as well as in Lankaran and Sheki regional scientific centers.

Conferences, seminars, lectures and round tables on current issues of modern science, including exhibitions and “Open Days” are scheduled.

In addition, will be presented the honorary diplomas of scientific institutions and organizations of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences to scientists for best performing in their activities, holding contests "Young Women in Science", "World of Plants", "Best journalistic article", "Master in 2019" other various nominations.
