On December 28, ANAS National Museum of Azerbaijan Literature held musical literary event devoted to 120th anniversary of notable representative of Azerbaijan literature, great poet Alaga Vahid.

Before the event, exhbition dedicated to Alaga Vahid was demonstrated.

Director of the museum, Academician Rafael Huseynov stressed out the importance of President Ilham Aliyev’s order “On celebrating 120th anniversary of Alaga Vahid” dated March 18, 2015, and spoke about life and creativity of ghazelkhan who gained fame not only in Azerbaijan, but also in the Near East. Being successor of Fuzuli traditions, Vahid has been one of the notable representatives of ghazel genre in modern Azerbaijan literature. Poet’s biography has an interesting and unique aspects and his ghazels differs with simplicity of poetic language and harmony.

Noted that, celebrating great poet Vahid’s 120th anniversary is the result of care and attention of Mr. President to art and literature.

In closing, songs composed to gazelkhan’s poems were performed by well-known mugham singers.
