ANAS National Museum of Azerbaijan Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi held scientific session on “Leader phenomenon in statehood tradition of Azerbaijan– from Shah Ismayil Safavid to XXI century” (based on Academician Ramiz Mehdiyev’s works “Shah Ismayil Khatai: historical-diplomatic documents” and “Shah Ismayil Khatai: portret of a ruler and warrior”), on December 11.

Scientific session launched with commemoration of national leader Heydar Aliyev.

Bringing to mind exceptional merits of national leader in formation of Azerbaijan statehood Acad. Rafael Huseynov added that, Heydar Aliyev survived Azerbaijan from the collapse, civil war and chaos, became the architect of the modern state and sustain the economy and was able to sign the oil contracts that will ensure the country's future.”

Then, attendees of the scientific session were familiar with exhibition reflecting Heydar Aliyev’s way of life and struggle.

Event was set up over discussions by Azerbaijani scientists in the context of historical publications by head of Presidential Administration of AR, Acad. Ramiz Mehdiyev which relating modern social-political realities.

In advance, was listened lecture “Theoretic models of the contemporary Azerbaijan statehood in the comparative-historical studies by Academician Ramiz Mehdiyev” by Rafael Huseynov.

Standing on the individual moments of the research by Ramiz Mehdiyev about Shah Ismayil Khatai, R. Huseynov stated: "Shah Ismayil was investigated by historians, philologists, source studiers, textologists and folklorists including, have written many articles and books about him. But Ramiz Mehdiyev’s studies differ from all of these.

Ramiz Mehdiyev proves that, Shah Ismayil aimed to build a strong Azerbaijani state by centralizing all his features such as statesman, ideologist, diplomat, philanthropist, organizer of science and culture in one point. Also, he touches upon the issue of Azerbaijani language, its strengthening and having the state status by Shah Ismayil Khatayi in the XVI century.”

Ramiz Mehdiyev’s studies bring new terms and concepts to our science. He included the new expression to an academic cycle “Shah Ismayil’s political heritage”. As a result of varied investigations Acad. Ramiz Mehdiyev defined the key element of Shah Ismayil’s statehood policy: ”Principle of justice”, noted R. Huseynov.

Later on, Deputy Director for Science Dr. Philology Khatira Bashirli delivered a lecture “Azerbaijan history of the independence period and Shah Ismayil Khatai”, chief of International relations and comparetivistics department, Dr. Philology Shafag Alibeyli “Shah Ismayil Khatai’s autograph epithets in the context of Academician Ramiz Mehdiyev’s studies”, chief of Scientific development and educational projects department, Prof. Kamil Allahyarov “Shah Ismayil Katai’s role in development of Azerbaijan literature and culture” and Prof Kamil Ibrahimov “Shah Ismayil Khatai as a leader of Safavid-Azerbaijan empery”.
