On August 14, commemoration event and opening ceremony of notable surgeon, Turkologist scientist and Professor Javad Heyat’s monument was held in the second Alley of Honor.

Event was attended by employees of Iranian Embassy to Azerbaijan, Vice-President of ANAS, Academician Isa Habibbayli, academician-secretary of Department of Humanitarian Sciences Teymur Karimli, head of Ataturk Center, corresponding member of ANAS Nizami Jafarov, family members of deceased and social figures.

The director of the Museum of Azerbaijan Literature, Academician Rafael Huseynov stated that, prominent physician J. Heyat, was known as a celebrate writer and literary critic, was a member of the Paris International Academy of Surgery. Talking about the work done by great figure, Huseynov noted that scientist's name is associated with many surgical procedures in Azerbaijan as well.

Scientist who delivered lectures in the several scientific international conferences, is an author of more than 100 articles which have been published on various medical journals.

In addition, was noted that, history of Azerbaijan literature, past of Turkic nations, national folklore, including researches related to Islam study were research objects of scientist. His articles embrace issues of development stages of the Azerbaijani language, folklore study, literature, folklore, literary criticism, philosophy, history, journalism etc. Meanwhile, J. Heyat contributed for wide promotion of Azerbaijan academic and cultural achievements and strengthening literary ties.

Attendees of the event shared their memories on Dr. Javad Heyat and put flowers in front of the monument.
