At the meeting of the Presidium of ANAS Director of the National Museum of Azerbaijani Literature, Academician Rafael Huseynov spoke about the existing problems in the field of national linguistics, voiced proposals on ways to solve them.

"Language is the highest treasure", the scientist said and stressed the importance of training philologists and translators in the modern period and translating the pearls of Russian classical literature into various languages of the world. He noted that, in order to organize high-level work in this direction, young and high-potential personnel should be seconded to the relevant European countries and to study languages in perfection.

Noting that, the popularization of famous classical poets and writers of Azerbaijan throughout the world is the main task facing the humanities, the academician highlighted the need for the distribution in European languages of books and monographs devoted to individual historical personalities.

He noted that, the study of ancient manuscripts is of particular importance from the point of view of studying the history of Azerbaijan and spoke about the importance of training professional specialists in this field. The scientist called upon specialists and scholars of literature specialists who are active at ANAS in the field of linguistics to take an active part in this process.

R.Huseynov also touched upon the problems existing in the field of linguistics and lexicography in the country. He noted the importance of training professional staff in the compilation of an explanatory dictionary of the Azerbaijani language, as well as terminological and regional dictionaries.
