ANAS National Museum of Azerbaijani Literature after Nizami Ganjavi hosted a republican conference on "The Sword and Feather of Khatai" dedicated to the Shah Ismail Khatai’s 530th anniversary statesman and poet, who had exceptional merits in the socio-political and cultural revival of our country on November 24.

At the beginning, an exhibition dedicated to the memory of Shah Ismail Khatai was demonstrated.

At the conference, the museum's director, Academician Rafael Huseynov spoke about the life and creative of Shah Ismail Khatai, known as a great statesman, talented commander, patriot in the history of Azerbaijan. He noted that, Khatai was an outstanding poet who played a special role in the development of the literary language, enriching our poetry with moral and spiritual values. He created remarkable poetic works in the Azerbaijani Turkic language, turned the Azerbaijani language into a state and poetic language, did a great job for the public, political, economic and cultural development of the country. His work "Sword and Feather" Sh. I. Khatai left a deep mark in the history of Azerbaijan.

Noted that, the first event dedicated to Khatai was held in 1987 in the Azerbaijan State Philharmonic after Muslim Magomayev, R. Huseynov noted that every five years on the initiative of the Literature Museum, the anniversaries and anniversaries of Shah Ismail Khatai are celebrated.

R.Huseynov also talked about the books dedicated to Shah Ismayil Khatai, the books of the head of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Academician Ramiz Mehdiyev "Shah Ismail Safevi as a historical person, sanctified by a high goal", "Shah Ismail Safevi: portrait of a ruler and a warrior". Speaking about the historical and scientific significance of books, the scientist said that these valuable publications reflect a new perspective on the history of the middle Ages.

The conference continued its work at the sessions on "Literary heritage of Shah Ismail Khatai and problems of medieval Azerbaijani literature", "Problems of native language and terminology during the Shah Ismail Khatai period and in medieval Azerbaijan", "The main directions of Azerbaijan's foreign policy of the Safavid era and the problems of medieval Azerbaijani diplomacy " etc.
