ANAS Presidium by the organizational support of the Division of the Humanities, Division of Social Sciences and Huseyn Javid’s Memorial Flat held "Huseyn Javid’s Ideals in the activity and the modern period" the international scientific conference dedicated to the 135th anniversary of the prominent poet and playwright Huseyn Javid on December 13.

At first, the guests got acquainted with the exhibition devoted to the Huseyn Javid’s life and activity of the great poet.

Opening the event, ANAS President, Academician Akif Alizadeh said that, the conference was organized in accordance with the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev "On holding the 135th anniversary of the great Azerbaijani poet and playwright Huseyn Javid." He noted that, the creativity and activity of Huseyn Javid as a whole was aimed at raising the culture of the Azerbaijani people. Academician recalled the great merits of the national leader Heydar Aliyev in reviving the images of Javidav's consciousness and worldview of a new generation, turning him into our contemporary.

He stressed that, in 1982, by the initiative of the great leader, the dramatist's body was brought to Azerbaijan and buried in his native Nakhchivan land, which became a significant event for the national literature, culture, for the people as a whole. Having said that the national leader Heydar Aliyev always highly appreciated the literary heritage of the classic, Academician Akif Alizade added that today this attention is rendered by the head of state Ilham Aliyev, as evidenced by the signing of the Order on holding the 135th anniversary of the great poet and playwright at the state level.

ANAS Vice-President, Academician Isa Habibbeyli spoke at the conference with the report "About the great poet-thinker Huseyn Javid". Speaking about the life and activity of the playwright, Academician said that, he began his literary activity with verse creativity, his first play "Mother" wrote in 1910. Academician noted that, until 1937 Javid created more than 20 plays, laid the foundation of the genre of verse drama in Azerbaijani literature, the philosophy and historical tragedies reflected in his works became the beginning of a new period in the domestic drama and influenced the development of the national theater. Academician spoke about the important role of the classics in the development of literature, about his poetic, dramatic and pedagogical activity and stressed that, his works "Iblis", "Prophet", "Sheikh Sanan", etc. Huseyn Javid took an honorable place in the Azerbaijani literature.

Academician Isa Habibbayli noted that, Javid is an outstanding personality, who even more exalted in the 20th century the ideology of Turkism in Azerbaijan and brought these ideas to literature. Noting that, in the context of the existence of a large number of cultures, languages and religions, the legacy of Huseyn Javid instills in people of different linguistic, religious and cultural affiliations the ability to live harmoniously and peacefully side by side, I.Habibbeyli emphasized that, the work of a classic has no national and geographical boundaries, it is not limited to space and time. Academician noted that, Javid's work consists of valuable works directly in tune with the multiculturalism policy pursued by President Ilham Aliyev in the republic.

Speaking with the report on "The way from thought to the finished line: Javid's manner of giving thoughts artistic and poetic form", Director of ANAS National Museum of Azerbaijan Literature after Nizami Ganjavi, Academician Rafael Huseynov told about the peculiar features of the classic's work on his works. He noted that, along with the fact that the creative process of the great Azerbaijani poet and playwright is distinguished by his individuality and uniqueness, he also has some uncertainty.

In his speech, Academician Rafael Huseynov also spoke about the process of artistic translation, during which the prominent playwright retained the meaning of the original and expressed it with high skill, while the work was not inferior to the original. The speaker gave concrete examples and compared his translations of Omar Khayyam's works with translations of various poets.

Then, Academician-Secretary of the Department of the Humanities, Academician Teymur Kerimli delivered a report on "Huseyn Javid and the classical heritage". Having said that, Huseyn Javid is one of the outstanding representatives of Azerbaijani literature, he noted that the uniqueness of the great playwright's skill lies in the synthesis of the Eastern and Western literary and cultural contexts.

He said that, although Javid often referred to the works of Persian poets such as Abulkasim Firdousi, Omar Khayyam and Faridaddin Attar, all of these sources were needed only as material for the form: "We see that Javid relied heavily on two source - humanism Nizami and love lyrics of Fizuli.

At the scientific conference, Director of the Institute of Linguistics after Nasimi, Academician Mohsun Nagisoylu, delivered a report on "The Poetic Language of Huseyn Javid", Director of the Institute of Architecture and Arts, corresponding member of ANAS Erteng Salamzadeh on "The Image of Hussein Javid in the Art of Azerbaijan", Ph.D. in Philology Sona Veliyeva on "Multiculturalism in the work of Huseyn Javid: Shaykh Sanan and Humar", Director of the House-Museum of Huseyn Javid of ANAS, Doctor of Philology Gulbeniz Babakhanli on "Problem East and West in the work of Huseyn Javid", Deputy Director of the Institute of Philosophy for Research, Ph.D. in Philosophy Einullah Madatli on "Heydar Aliyev and the philosophical heritage of Hussein Javid".
