Azerbaijan celebrated Science Day on March 27 for the first time. It is a holiday of all who engaged in science and in general of the Azerbaijani scientific community.

On April 9, 2018, AR President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree on establishing the "Science Day" in the Republic of Azerbaijan, taking into account the importance of science in the development of society.

The scientific community visited the grave of the architect and creator of the modern independent Azerbaijan state, the world-famous political figure, the nationwide leader of our people, the great leader Heydar Aliyev in the Alley of Honor

The memory of a prominent ophthalmologist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva was also honored, and flowers were laid at her grave.
