On December 10, Icheri Sheher State Historical and Architectural Reserve has hosted a scientific- practical conference dedicated to the 650th anniversary of Imadaddin Nasimi.

During the conference, a book "A Century of Nasimi Studies" was also presented.

Javid Kazimov, a member of the Board of the Icheri Sheher State Historical and Architectural Reserve, said that an action plan was developed in accordance with the relevant decree of the President of the country to declare 2019 "Year of Nasimi". According to the plan, Reserve Department has held various events throughout the year.

Then director of the National Museum of Azerbaijani Literature, academician Rafael Huseynov said that 600 years anniversary of the famous poet Imadaddin Nasimi, who distinguished in Azerbaijani culture and literature for his pecularity, was celebrated for the first time at the initiative of national leader Heydar Aliyev.

Academician R. Huseynov highly estimated the planting of 650,000 trees in all regions of the country on the initiative of President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva in honor of the 650th anniversary of Imadaddin Nasimi.

R. Huseynov noted that current book could be considered as Nasimi's return. His return begins in 1926 with the word master Salman Mumtaz. For the first time in his research, he laid the foundation of studying Nasimi by presenting his poems to Azerbaijan people.

Later, MP Nizami Jafarov said that President Ilham Aliyev's orders to celebrate the 650th anniversary of the great Azerbaijani poet Imadaddin Nasimi and to declare 2019 "Year of Nasimi" prompted the broader study of the Nasimi heritage and the poet's wider geography.

Writer-publisher Saadat Shafiyeva spoke about the book and her scientific article in. She stated that, this book will be available to libraries around the world.

An exhibition of Nasimi miniatures was also presented during the event.
