An event dedicated to the 900th anniversary of the prominent representative of Azerbaijani literature Afzaladdin Khagani Shirvani was held at the National Museum of Azerbaijani Literature of ANAS named after Nizami Ganjavi.

Along with the museum staff, the event was also attended by students of the Translation Department of Baku Slavic University, who had internships in the museum.

At the event, Aysel Bayramova, Secretary of the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of the Museum of Literature, delivered a lecture on “Poet Khagan of his people”. In her speech, the speaker spoke about the environment and contemporaries of Khagani Shirvani, a representative of the XII century, who is considered the golden age of Azerbaijani literature.

Having voiced excerpts from the poems and gasidas of the writer, A. Bayramova repaired a calligraphy sample protected in the museum’s exposition halls with a fragment of the gasida “Madain Ruins”, a copy of the “Divan” published by stone embossing, and the collection “Khagani Shirvani in a custody”.

After listening to the lecture, discussions were held on the topic, questions were responded.

In conclusion, Associate Professor of Baku Slavic University Irada Guliyeva expressed gratitude to the museum administration for the conditions created for students.
