At the next meeting of the Presidium of ANAS the report of the Division of Humanitarian Sciences was presented. The director of the National Museum of Azerbaijani Literature, Academician Rafael Huseynov, spoke at the meeting, stressed that last years serious progress and great successes in the field of humanities have been achieved. He emphasized the need for fluency in European, as well as Arabic and Persian languages in terms of research in the priority areas of the humanities.

"We must unite our efforts in the promotion of the humanities," Academician R.Huseynov said and stressed the importance of wide propaganda in Wikipedia of the successes achieved in this field. He spoke about the need for regular organization of conferences and exchange of experience with foreign scientists and specialists.

The scientist also shared his thoughts on the introduction of changes in the spelling dictionary of the Azerbaijani language. He noted that the opinion of the public should be learned in connection with the changes, the comments and suggestions of scientists and specialists of the relevant branch should be taken into account: "It is necessary to eliminate the signs that impede the general development of the language and to carry out joint activities in this direction."

Academician R.Huseynov in his speech noted, extraordinary importance of studying the art of mugham in Azerbaijan and brought to attention that in this connection the important issues are facing the Department of Mugham Studies of the Institute of Architecture and Art of ANAS. "Mugam is our national heritage", R.Huseynov noted the great importance of music education for a deep study of the subtleties of this art.
