Every year on May 18 is celebrated as the International Museum Day in the world. The purpose of this remarkable day, founded in 1977 by the initiative of the International Council of Museums (ICOM), is to show how museums played a crucial role in the life of society.

The International Museum Day celebrated in about 150 countries around the world this year is dedicated to the theme of "Museums in Hypercommunication Period: New Approaches, New Audiences." This year's theme is to highlight the role of high technologies in expanding traditional audiences of museums, in this context, digitizing collections, adding multimedia elements to exhibitions , exchange of experience in social networks.

This holiday is widely celebrated in Azerbaijan, with ancient history and rich culture. A series of events are being held in our country within the scope of the day.

An International Day of Museums will be held on May 18 at the National Museum of Azerbaijan Literature named after N.Ganjavi of ANAS. The goal is to provide people with free access to exhibitions and expositions presented by the museum.

The museum will operate from 10:00 to 17:00.
