"Over the past 5 years, important activities have been implemented aimed at integrating science and education, improving the training system in accordance with modern standards, applying research results in the educational process and transferring multidisciplinary knowledge". In his speech at the annual General Meeting dedicated to the scientific and scientific-organizational activities of the Presidium of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences in 2017, ANAS President, academician Akif Alizadeh noted that, one of the important tasks of the Academy is the formation of science and education as a unified social institution.

Academician Akif Alizadeh said that, in order to ensure the productive integration of science and education, the goal of which is to train highly specialized personnel and meet the country's growing demand for highly qualified specialists and scientific cadres, with the support of the republic's leadership, a master's degree was established in the Academy and a number of priority specialties were implemented. Academician stressed that, in connection with the training in the master's program of the ANAS, Milli Majlis made appropriate amendments to the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Education". One of the advances in the integration of science and education that have been achieved over the past five years, he called the Nizami project, aimed at modernizing doctoral education and research.
