ANAS Institute of Geology and Geophysics held next meeting of the Mejlis of ANAS Free Trade Union on October 14.

The event was attended by the Deputy Head of ANAS Office of Administration of ANAS Sardar Aliyev, members of the Mejlis of the Trade Union, Deputy Directors for general issues of scientific institutions and organizations of the Academy and chairmen of trade union organizations.

At first, with a minute of silence, the memory of the prominent oriental scholar academician Vasim Mammadaliev was honored.

Chairman of the Free Trade Union, Doctor of Law, Professor Habil Gurbanov informed on agenda and highlighted the work done by the organization for 2019. According to him, over the past period were held free check-up of Academy staff, regular food fairs were organized, parcels were sent to theaters, camps and sanatoriums and food was distributed to low-income families.

In addition, he noted that, over the past period a series of events have been organized on the tragedy of January 20, the Khojaly genocide, etc.

H.Gurbanov said that, this year, by the financial support of the ANAS Free Trade Union a volleyball and basketball court was put into operation in the courtyard of Academy campus, so that employees can spend their leisure time efficiently. He noted that, these sports are planned to be included in the III Spartakiad, which will be among the first organizations of ANAS in 2020.

The chairman of the Free Trade Union also noted that, it is planned to create ANAS musical ensemble.

Sardar Aliyev, Deputy Head of ANAS Office of Administration of ANAS Sardar Aliyev spoke about strengthening control over the use of land provided to Academy staff at the Khizi base station. According to him, the land was allocated from the balance of the Khizyn agricultural production complex of ANAS in order to improve the social situation and organize effective recreation for the Academy staff.

According to him, the work on the site was carried out in accordance with the document on "Rules for the allocation and use of land for temporary use for horticultural and gardening purposes ANAS employees", approved at a meeting of ANAS Presidium.

He noted that, over the past period, in this territory was carried out mapping, land was distributed, access roads were laid, water wells were drilled and some excavation work was carried out. It is currently planned to plant trees in the area that match the terrain.

The meeting also approved the membership in the Mejlis of the new chairmens of the Free Trade Unions - Republican Seismic Survey Center, High Technologies Park of ANAS and “Elm” Publishing House.
