Graceful miniatures from drawing schools of Tabriz, Maraga are always attract attention among the precious art samples at National Museum of Azerbaijan Literature of ANAS named after Nizami Ganjavi.

One of the regular meetings of the museum was just about ancient miniature art.

As in other Near Eastern countries, interest to world literature and art has caused a need to designing manuscript books and their illustration in Azerbaijan. Lecturer – researcher at Department of Scientific development and educational projects Tutu Mammadova informed about miniatures decorating manuscripts of “Shahname”, “Jame et-tevarikh”, “Khamsa”, “Verga ve Gulsha” which maintained in various museum and libraries of the world, acquainted the museum employees with period, personality and creativity of prominent artist of Tabriz drawing school – Soltan Mahammad.

Event conunied with speeches by researcher at Department of Investigation and presentation of ancient and medieval Azerbaijan literature Nazmiyye Yigitoglu, researchers at Department of Investigation of new and modern Azerbaijan literature Malahat Kalantarli and Tore Huseynova.
