Luis Rapozo, the Portuguese archaeologist, has been elected president of the International Museum of Museums (ICOM).

This information was announced at the 25th annual conference of the same international organization in Kyoto.

ICOM is the largest international organization of museums and museum workers. Founded in 1946, ICOM is committed to preserving and developing the world's tangible and intangible natural and cultural heritage.
