Academician Rafael Huseynov said in connection with the meeting of Academic Council on December 25, 2015, that they have agreed on defence of 28 PhD theses and 159 research works in current year. Launching the researches over 187 theses per year is extremely praiseworthy. But forgotten that this is not all of the works presented to us. The number of applicants related to conforming the research works were more. While 46 applicants did not get positive response because of previously developed research works, or lack of sufficient scientific point of view in the work.

Rafael Huseynov added that, traditionally large number of people who willing to defend a thesis on philology prevails, compared to other fields of science.
