Carpet weaving occupies a special place among the inimitable cultural riches of Azerbaijan, which has a great historical past. Being an important factor in our national way of life, this valuable art differs throughout many years of high artistic and aesthetic qualities, and has became a distinct expression of the rich world, mindset and spiritual identity of our people.

Successfully carried out the relevant work to promote in the international arena of the traditional art of Azerbaijani carpet has included as one of the achievements of world culture on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.

Governed by Clause 32 of Article 109 of the Constitution of AR and to ensure the organization V International Symposium on Azerbaijani Carpet at a high level in Baku, given its importance in the preservation and development of ancient traditions of carpet art of Azerbaijan, a report to them to future generations, as well as large-scale popularization, I decree:

1. Ministery of Culture and Tourism of Azerbaijan Republic jointly with the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences and Open Joint Stock Company "Azerkhalcha" prepare and implement an action plan for the organization the V International Symposium on Azerbaijani carpets in October 2017 in Baku.

2. The Cabinet of Ministers to resolve issues arising from this Order.
