On January 9 at the Alley of Honor was opened the tomb of the Azerbaijan national poet Zelimkhan Yagub.

Speaking at the ceremony of commemoration, held with the participation of scientists and cultural workersand public representatives the chairman of the Milli Majlis Cultural Committee, Director of National Museum of Azerbaijani Literature, Academician Rafael Huseynov spoke about the poet's merits in the development of Azerbaijani literature.

He noted that, the leadership of our state takes special care and respect for the heritage of the great poet. Academician Rafael Huseynov brought to the attention that the author of the memorial of the poet is the People's Artist Natig Aliyev and the architect is Tarlan Hasanov.

Speaking at the ceremony, rector of Baku State University and Academician Abel Maharramov and corresponding member of ANAS Nizami Jafarov, chairman of Azerbaijan Writers Union and People's Writer Anar and People's poet Fikrat Gojaand others, noted that Zelimkhan Yagub was a prominent poet who felt the historical responsibility, nation and country.

It was emphasized that the memory of Zelimkhan Yagub as an outstanding master of the pen will always live in the hearts of our people.
