On February 15, the Azerbaijan State Academic National Drama Theatre in a new production was presented the play"Diamond", prepared on the basis of the play of the outstanding playwright, famous film and theater Jafar Jabbarli.

The event, held under the joint support of the Literature Institute after Nizami of ANAS and Academic National Drama Theatre was attended by MPs, prominent figures of science and culture, as well as representatives of the theater community.

At the event, ANAS Vice-President, Director of the Institute of Literature after Nizami, Academician Isa Habibbeyli spoke about the exceptional merit of the immortal masters in Azerbaijan literature and culture. It was noted that, a writer who has devoted 20 years to literary works, has won great fame in his native literature lyrical and satirical stories, poems, poems, translations of dramatic works.

Vice-President of ANAS noted that, J.Jabbarli belong invaluable merits in the development of domestic national cinema. Having developed the formulation of many dramatic works, a distinguished man of letters functioned as director and leader of the art and set designer.

Noting that, J.Jabbarli’s dramatic work of 1930s started with the play "Diamond", Academician I.Habibbeyli brought to the attention of the audience that the play premiered on April 13, 1931. It was reported that a new stage life of drama in two parts belong to the Honoured Art Worker Ali Amirli. Scientific consultant of performance - corresponding member of ANAS, Professor Nizami Jafarov, the art director - People's Artist Azerpasha Nematov, directors - Anar Sadigov and Alif Jahangirli, composer - People's Artist Siyavush Karimi.

Then it was staged, prepared in a new production.

The performance, presented in a new version after years, the cast performed the role with great skill. At the same time, the events unfolding against the backdrop of essentially works were presented to a professional audience.
