The textbook entitled "Ancient and Medieval Azerbaijani Literature" by Faig Aliev, dissertator of National Museum of Azerbaijan Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi, has been published.

Scientific editor is Academician Nizami Jafarov, reviewers are professors Kamandar Sharifli and Asker Rasulov.

The textbook for the bachelor's and master's degrees of higher education covers the Azerbaijani literature from the earliest to the XVIII century. The basic directions of development of our literature, forms and content were examined and detailed information about the most important examples and prominent representatives of the Azerbaijani literature of VII-XVIII centuries included to the publication.

Director of the National Museum of Azerbaijan Literature , academician Rafael Huseynov wrote a preface entitled "History of the word - the history of the nation".

High school teachers, PhD students and philologists may use the textbook.
