National Museum of Azerbaijan Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi has prepared two posters dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic (ADR) and the 80th anniversary of the museum. The posters reflects the view of the Literature Museum of modern and early twentieth century, meetings held in this space, historical meetings, as well as photographs of prominent figures of Azerbaijan, poets and writers.

It is known that the National Museum of Azerbaijan Literature is the only cultural center in the world that reflects the way in which a nation's literature has passed since ancient times. The building of the museum was built as a one-storied caravanserai in the middle of the XIX century. In 1860 the second floor was added to the building on the basis of the project of the chief architect of the Baku province Gasim Hajibababayov. In 1915 on the basis of a new project by Alexander Nikitin, a civil engineer, a floor was added to the building and the building turned into a three-storied “Metropol” hotel.

After the Baku liberation in September 1918 and the National Government's departure from Ganja to Baku, the Cabinet of Ministers of ADR was located at the Literary Museum called “Metropol”. Government members have lived and worked here. Meetings of the Cabinet of Ministers have been held in the historic area of the museum now called "Istiglal", and the most important decisions that regulate the life of the country have been adopted in this historic place.
