Presidium of ANAS held the next meeting on December 14. First, according to the Orders of President Ilham Aliyev on the occasion of the 80th and 60th anniversaries of the institutions President of ANAS, academician Akif Alizadehawarded employees of ANAS Institute of Geology and Geophysics and the Institute of Oriental Studies named after Academican Ziya Bunyadov.

Then, academician Akif Alizadeh told about the Order of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On allocating funds for ANAS with the aim of sending young scientists to honorable research institutions in Europe to complete their research” and gave instructions for the implementation of relevant activities in this area.

Then, Deputy Director of ANAS Institute of Microbiology on scientific Affairs, corresponding member of ANAS Panah Muradov delivered paper on "Biologically active substances of fungal origin: producers, synthesis, applications and prospects". According to the decree of the Presidium, in order to continue and further intensify research on the synthesis and production of biologically active substances for various purposes, it was deemed expedient to prepare a target research program within two months and submit it to the Presidium of ANAS.

The first scientific and organizational issue submitted for discussion was related to the monitoring of scientific journals of ANAS and the improvement of publishing activities.

Director of ANAS Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics, Chairman of the Scientific and Publishing Council of ANAS, corresponding member of ANAS Misir Mardanov said that, the issue of publishing scientific journals at the Academy is the focus of attention of the Presidium, there are a number of positive changes in this area. Misir Mardanov said that, 10 scientific journals of ANAS in the field of mathematics, chemistry and earth sciences are published in English. Misir Mardanov stressed that, Internet versions of 20th journals also were created, included in the scientific bases of “Web of Science” and “Scopus”, are at the stage of obtaining the status of a journal with an impact factor.

Taking into account the data related to the state of scientific and publishing activities at ANAS, it was decided to approve a number of documents aimed at improving the activities of ANAS journals, increasing their scientific level and relevance, optimizing the publishing process. In addition, it was decided to allocate funds for conducting regular monitoring of scientific journals published in the Academy, improving the technical support of the editorial boards of the ANAS journals included in the scientific databases of “Web of Science” and “Scopus” and providing material incentives for editorial staff and reviewers.

Head of the Head Office of Science and Education  of ANAS Presidium, corresponding member of the ANAS Aminaga Sadigov noted that, the scientific rating of ANAS has increased, number of scientific papers and references to them increased.

At the meeting, heads of scientific institutions were instructed to increase publishing activity in international authoritative journals.

Next on the agenda was the issue of a republican competition of research projects for young scientists. In his speech, academician Akif Alizadeh said that, the goal of the competition is to stimulate the activities of young scientists who conduct scientific research aimed at solving current and modern scientific problems.

Presidium adopted the resolution on the announcement of a republican competition of research projects for young scientists.

Then, was requested to ensure the participation in the competition of young scientists working both in ANAS and in other scientific institutions and universities of the republic.

Presidium also approved the “Rules for the allocation of land plots to the employees of ANAS for gardening and their usage”.

It was noted that, was provided for allocation of temporary usage land plots to ANAS staff; the commission created for this purpose prepared and submitted to the Presidium of ANAS a document on the allocation of land plots and the use of these territories.

Then, academician A. Amiraslanov, informed about the "Oncology Terminology Dictionary" and noted that, this book was the first volume of terminology dictionary in Azerbaijani and covered many areas of oncology.

This explanatory dictionary (Russian-Azerbaijani, Russian-English-Azerbaijani and Russian-French-Azerbaijani) includes topic of theoretical and clinical oncological terms, as well as oncology services said that monologue speech models on Russian-English-Azerbaijani and etc. He noted that the book is intended for oncologists, scientists and students.

In conclusion, personnel issues were reviewed. Rzaqulu Hajiyev has been appointed as the Head of HR Department of the Presidium of ANAS and Ph.D in History Ramil Dadashov - Deputy Director of the Institute of Caucasology of ANAS for Scientific Affairs.
