In 2020, the 100th anniversary of the birth of a prominent representative of Azerbaijani literary criticism, a well-known critic and textual scientist, corresponding member of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, Honored Scientist, Doctor of Philological sciences, Professor Aziz Mirfeyzulla oglu Mirahmadov will be celebrated.

Professor Aziz Mirahmadov devoted sixty years of his life to a systematic study of the period of the history of our literature, covering, in particular, the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, enriched the national literary science with solid research. The fundamental works of the scientist, in which the unity of the relationship of social thought about such powerful literary figures as Mirza Fatali Akhundzade, Mirza Alakbar Sabir, Jalil Mammadguluzadeh and Muhammad Hadi, and artistic thought, occupy a special place among the achievements of our literary studies. Summarizing lectures by Aziz Mirahmadov on the aesthetic principles of Azerbaijani romanticism played a basic role for subsequent research in this direction. 

Aziz Mirahmadov, one of the main creators of the literary encyclopedia in the country, has also done significant work on the history of our press. Publication of the “Ekinchi” newspaper and the “Molla Nasraddin” journal in the new alphabet and bringing them to a wide readership is one of the scientist's areas of work in the field of textual studies that deserve approval. Aziz Mirakhmedov made a great contribution to the training of highly qualified scientific personnel.

Guided by clause 32 of Article 109 of the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan and in order to ensure the 100th anniversary of the birth of a prominent scholar Aziz Mirahmadov, taking into account his important achievements in the development of Azerbaijani literary science, I decide:

1. Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences to conduct and implement an action plan for the 100th anniversary of the Honored Scientist Aziz Mirahmadov.

2. The Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan shall resolve issues arising from this Order.
