First lady of Bosnia and Herzegovina: "I would like to be back to Azerbaijan and Nizami Museum" + Photo Nov 11, 2024 | 06:38 / COP 29

In order to participate in the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 29) of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, which opened on November 11, as well as the Climate Action Summit of World Leaders, the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis Bechirovic and his wife Mirela Bechirovich are visiting the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Today Denis Bechirovich’s wife, Mirela Bechirovich, and Dzeneta Omerdich, adviser to the head of state, as well as the delegation accompanying them, visited the National Museum of Azerbaijani Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi.

Academician Rafael Huseynov, director of the National Museum of Azerbaijani Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi welcomed the guests and gave them brief information about the history of the museum. He said that in 1918, the government of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic was located in this building and the path to independence of the Republic began here.

In the presentation of Tomiris Babanli, head of the exposition department, Mirela Bechirovich got acquainted with the museum and was satisfied with the acquaintance with the glorious path of Azerbaijani literature from ancient times to the present day.

The guest was interested in the information about the presence of a famous poet of Azerbaijan like Mahsati Ganjavi, her becoming one of the harbingers of free-thinking in her time, and the establishment of a women's poets' assembly in Ganja.

She said that these factors are indicators of the fact that the Azerbaijani people took a leading position among the nations of the world centuries ago, as well as in the world of culture.

Ms. Mirela Bechirovich wrote in the Museum's review book, expressing her satisfaction with the presentation of the ancient and colorful history of Azerbaijani literature and culture in the Museum with taste and scientific accuracy: “Thank you for your hospitality and interesting explanation. I hope to come back here again”.

In the end, the director of the Museum Rafael Huseynov presented to Ms. Mirela Bechirovich his elegantly printed in English books about Nizami Ganjavi and other classics of Azerbaijani literature.
