Media members of the Communications Department of the Presidential Administration of Turkey visited the Nizami Museum + Photo Nov 20, 2024 | 10:53 / COP 29

The events of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) held in Azerbaijan were also attended by influential media representatives of Turkey. The events organized within the framework of COP29 were the focus of the Turkish media.

Merve Demir and Jemre Aljak, media representatives of the Communication Department of the Turkish Presidential Administration, who took part in the events held in the Green Zone under the COP29 slogan “Let’s be united for the sake of a green world”, were guests at the National Museum of Azerbaijani Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi.

The director of the museum, Academician Rafael Huseynov, met with young representatives of the Turkish media. Academician Rafael Huseynov, who introduced them to the “Independence Hall” during the meeting, told the guests about the history of the museum, the establishment and founders of the Government of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, as well as their activities in this building in 1919-1920. The director also talked about the creation of the Azerbaijani press, the publication of the first press organ “Akinchi” newspaper in 1875 on the initiative of Hasan Bey Zardabi.

The director presented the visitors with the books he authored, “Timeless and Spaceless” dedicated to the legacy of Imadaddin Nasimi and published in four languages, and “Existance from nothing” about the work of the genius Azerbaijani poet Muhammad Fizuli.  In addition, the books  “Mahsati Ganjavi.  Portrait-essay” and a set of postcards “Carpets of the Nizami Museum” were also presented to the guests.

Inara Safiyeva, scientific worker of the museum, introduced media representatives  to the exhibition of the Nizami Museum with “Akinchi”, “Kashkul”, “Hayat”, “Nijat” newspapers, published on silk cloth, as well as original examples of the satirical magazine “Molla Nasraddin” published in 1906 and other exhibits, which reflect the National Press of Azerbaijan.

In the end, the media representatives who noted that they had received detailed information about the history, culture and literature of Azerbaijan in the book of reviews and impressions of the museum concluded that they love Azerbaijan very much as Turkey and Azerbaijan are “two states, but one nation”.
