These days, the IX International Rumi Scientific Symposium is being held at Khazar University in Baku, jointly organized by the Mawlana Institite of Literary and Philosophical Studies of Khazar University and the Rumi Studies Center of Near East University in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
Professor Ali Kumail Qazalbash from the University of Balochistan, Pakistan, who has come to Azerbaijan to participate in the conference events, has visited the historical architectural monuments, museums, and cultural centers of Baku, including the Nizami Museum.
The guest was welcomed by the director of the National Museum of Azerbaijani Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi, academician Rafael Huseynov. During their conversation, the academician emphasized that the wise philosopher-poet of the East, Mawlana Jalaladdin Rumi, had a significant influence on the history of Azerbaijani philosophical thought through his works.
Later, the Museum’s staff member, Doctor of Philosophy in Philology Gulnar Agig, introduced the guest to the Museum’s exhibitions and provided detailed information about prominent figures of classical Azerbaijani literature. The Pakistani scholar expressed great interest in the works of eminent Azerbaijani poets, particularly Imadaddin Nasimi.
Professor Ali Kumail Qazalbash expressed his gratitude to the Museum’s director, Academician Rafael Huseynov, for the warm welcoming and meeting. The scholar admired the magnificent works created by the talented representatives of the Azerbaijani people. He emphasized his pride and honor in the ancient and rich culture of the homeland of his Qizilbash Turk ancestors. He shared his thoughts on this matter in the Museum's book of comments and impressions.
At the end, Academician Rafael Huseynov took memorial photos with the guest and presented Professor Ali Kumail Qazalbash with two gifts: a set of postcards titled “The Carpets of the Nizami Museum” (in English) and the book “Mahsati Ganjavi: A Portrait-Essay” (in Persian), both authored by him.
