On November 30, 2016 under the chairmanship Academician Rafael Huseynovheld a regular scientific research meeting of the Academic Council on Philology Issues of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The meeting discussed topics of theses of 29 candidates, including 3 for the training program for doctors and 26 - doctors of philosophy.

At the event were discussed topics of doctoral theses on "Theory and typology of literary autobiography", "Lev Tolstoy and the Azerbaijani literary-theoretical thought", "Problems of the execution process, functions and variations in the works of Bayati", as well as on the preparation of PhDs - "Active and passive vocabulary in modern Azerbaijani press," "The names of the plants, one component of which is associated with the names of animals", "Clothing names in Turkic languages of Oghuz group", "The problem of synonyms in linguistic terminology". 10 of the topics have not been confirmed.

Thus, at the meeting were approved themes of 19 dissertations with the introduction of certain changes in the 10.

Some topics have not been approved, to candidates were given appropriate recommendations regarding the proper execution of research works.

Speaking at the discussions Academician Rafael Huseynov, Doctor of Philology Atamoghlan Hasanov, Azada Musayeva, Bedirhan Ahmadov, Fakhraddin Veysalli, Imamverdi Hamidov, Rakhile Geybullayeva, Gulu Maharramli, Seyfaddin Rzasoy and Shafag Alibeyli expressed their opinions and suggestions.
