National Museum of Azerbaijan Literature of ANAS named after Nizami Ganjavi hosted the literary-musical event “Spring is coming to motherland”.

Director of the museum, Academician Rafael Huseynov congratulated the attendees on the occasion of Novruz holiday. He reminded the celebration of this holiday at the state level referring to name of national leader Heydar Aliyev. Making speech on deep roots of holiday, its specification, key attributes, including features of torpag (earth) chersenbe which considered last – ilakhir chershenbe, academician noted that, since ancient times 4 weeks prior to the arrival of summer, our people solemnly celebrated chershenbe (Wednesdays), which are connected with four essential elements for life (water, fire, wind, earth) and made fires.

R. Huseynov characterized Novruz as a holiday of unity, brotherhood, peace, moral purity and the awakening of nature.

He noted that the Novruz holiday has been included in the UNESCO Representative List of Intangible Heritage of Humanity.

In closing, musical-artistic programme prepared about Novruz was presented.
