The 90th jubilee of the rector of Azerbaijan Art Academy, prominent sculptor-scientist, People's artist, academician Omar Eldarov has been celebrated on December 20.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Culture and Tourism Minister Adalat Valiyevsaid that Omar Eldarov is one of the world-famous artisans enriching our culture with creative activities and services. His works are exhibited in regional and international competitions, in many museums around the world.

The monuments erected by O.Eldarov in Baku in different years contributed to the improvement of the artistic-aesthetic image of the city, A.Valiyev noted.

Then, Ceyhun Bayramov, acting as Minister of Education, spoke about Omar Eldarov's work as an educator who shared his knowledge with his students and taught them the sophistication of sculptures.

Director of the National Museum of Azerbaijan Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi of ANAS, academician Rafael Huseynov said that during his entire life O.Eldarov was an active participant of scientific-literary and socio-cultural life of Azerbaijan, along with productive creativity. For many years O.Eldarov's professional art and sculpture school has been formed in our republic.

“It's not evening yet" film dedicated to Omar Eldarov has been demonstrated.

The event continued with a concert program.
